In recognition of the important
connections between housing and health, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will fund research that examines the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of current or proposed efforts to promote healthy, environmental lifestyles through housing, particularly affordable housing managed by HUD. This initiative,
Healthy Homes Technical Studies Program, supports HUD’s 2010- 2015
Strategic Goal to use housing as a platform for wellness. HUD expects to award three to five $300,000 to $700,000 cooperative agreements to academic, non-profit and for-profit institutions located in the United States, local governments and federally recognized Native American tribes.
Research should be conclusive and applicable to on-the-ground work. Applications are due January 31, 2012. For more information on the application process, please click
