On February 4, Attendance Works, a national and state initiative promoting the importance of school attendance in ensuring academic success, will host a webinar on early warning systems for identifying students who are most at risk of poor performance or dropping out of school.

Entitled "Data Innovations: Developing Early Warning Systems to Ensure Students Are in School and on Track", the presentation will feature the experiences of the Fresno Unified School District, including the use of their "Chronic Absence Heat Map Mosaic" visual display, and introduce attendees to OnTrackEDU, a platform for educators to track early warning indicators, including chronic absences, as well as the interventions they employ to improve them.

Speakers will include:
  • Dave Calhoun, Executive Director of the Research, Evaluation and Assessment Office and  Eric Tilton, Technology Services Manager of the Fresno Unified School District;  
  • Mark Gross, CEO & Founder, School Loop, a mission-driven Ed-tech company serving over 4000 schools in 30 states.
