Webinar: Health Homes for Boys and Men of Color

The Alliance for Boys and Men of Color Health Policy Work Group is sponsoring a webinar focused on strategies for designing and implementing health homes tailored for boys and men of color (BMoC). Despite significant progress in public health over the last century, BMoC continue to experience poor health outcomes and poor quality of healthcare. For instance, Latino boys and young men are 4.1 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder than white boys, and African-American boys are 2.5 times more likely. “Health homes” are places or systems that deliver preventative health care to patients through a collaboration of health specialists, patients, and their families. These patient-centered homes are growing more common with the enactment of the Affordable Care Act and can catalyze improvements in health outcomes for BMoC.
