Earlier this month, the Convergence Partnership announced a new funding opportunity to promote equity and improve the health of low-income communities and communities of color. Entitled the "Convergence Innovation Fund: Promoting Health and Equity through Built Environment and Healthy Food Access Policy,"this program will provide funds to help local and regional philanthropic organizations to develop grant opportunities that would support cross-sector efforts to improve the built environment and increase access to healthy foods in these communities. The Innovation Fund will provide a 50% match over a three year period, not to exceed a total of $200,000.
The Convergence Partnership strongly recommends that interested parties participate in one of two upcoming webinars describing this opportunity in greater detail. The two webinars will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 12:00pm (PT) and Tuesday, July 10 at 12:30pm (PT).
Proposals are due on August 9, 2012 by 5:00pm (PT). For more information about this funding opportunity, including the full RFP, an RFP cover sheet and budget template, and links to register for the informational webinars, please click here.
