Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the four communities that will receive Choice Neighborhoods implementation grants. Receiving a combined $108.9 million, these communities will work to redevelop distressed housing in a manner that enhances the sustainability of public and assisted mixed-income housing. As part of the Administration’s Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, the Choice Neighborhoods grantees will use housing as a centerpiece strategy in addressing the interconnected challenges of the local community, such as health, safety, education and transportation.

The Choice Neighborhood implementation grantees include:
  • The Community Builders, Inc. (Cincinnati, OH)
  • San Antonio Housing Authority (San Antonio, TX)
  • Housing Authority of Seattle (Seattle, WA)
  • Housing Authority of the City of Tampa (Tampa, FL)

These four grantees were selected from a list of nine finalists, which were announced in August. To read a summary of each grantee, please click here.
