On Monday, April 9, the Alliance for Excellent Education will be hosting a webinar entitled "Dropping Out: Why Students Drop Out of High School and What Can Be Done About It". The webinar will focus on what motivates students to drop out, the costs of dropping out for both the individual and the rest of the country, as well as strategies at the federal, state, local, and school level to help prevent students from dropping out.

The event will feature a panel of experts including Dr. Russell W. Rumberger, Vice Provost for Education Partnerships in the University of California Office of the President and Director of the California Dropout Research Project, who has studied dropouts for the past 25 years. The panel will also include the Alliance's Vice President of Federal Advocacy, Phillip Lovell, and President, Bob Wise, who will serve as the moderator.

You can register for the webinar, which will take place on Monday, April 9 from from 2:00 - 3:00pm (EDT), by clicking here.

If you can't participate in the webinar, or are viewing this post after the date of the event, a recording will be available shortly after the conclusion of the event and can be found along with other archived Alliance events and webinars on this page.
