The Forum for Youth Investment is hosting a webinar titled “
Connecting the Dots: Data Sharing in States and Communities to Better Connect Youth Services.” Data is a critical tool that can help communities understand the needs of their residents and develop effective programs and strategies that can improve the well-being of children, families and the entire community. As communities come together to improve results for youth, it is crucial that various stakeholders have a place at the table. For example, designing an initiative to help disconnected youth remain in school may be supported by school staff, local community organizations and/or community colleges. Each of these partners is essential to the effective implementation of a dropout prevention strategy, as is the
data each partner brings to the table. This data may include local graduation rates, the percentage of unemployed youth and demographic data that may identify the youth who are most at risk of dropping out of school. To ensure that these partners can collaborate and develop programs and strategies that will improve outcomes for youth, it is imperative that there are effective data systems that can inform partners of youth needs, identify service gaps that may exist in the community and measure the impact of new programs and strategies that may be created.
“Connecting the Dots: Data Sharing in States and Communities to Better Connect Youth Services” will provide information about how to align community and state data in order to design and implement effective programs for youth. Although this webinar will focus on youth-specific examples, the strategies presented will be essential to the success of any community change initiative or new program.
The webinar will take place on
Tuesday, April 24th at 3pm ET. For more information about the Forum for Youth Investment and to register for the webinar, please click
